HeyGen Voice ranked #1 on Artificial Analysis’s Controlled Voice leaderboard when checked on October 13, 2026. That comparison uses eight cloned English voices: four US and four UK voices. It is a useful signal for that specific task.
The result does not rank every language, stock voice or SpeakGrove recording. A model that sounds convincing in a cloned English comparison may still pronounce your product name differently, miss a pause, or use an accent you did not intend. For a short video, an audiobook or a live conversation, your selection criteria can differ.

- Use the same short script in both services. Include a sentence from your real project, a name and a natural pause.
- Choose voices with a similar accent and delivery. Comparing an energetic presenter with a calm narrator tells you more about the voices than the models.
- Listen for clear pronunciation, natural pacing and whether the delivery fits your scene. Check the downloaded file in your usual editor.
- For a real-time application, compare response time in your own setup. For longer narration, compare continuity and the effort needed to correct a line.
For voice cloning, use your own adult voice or material you have explicit permission to use. Compare the same authorized source recording wherever each provider’s requirements allow it.
